Origin
The Americano originated in North America as an adaptation of espresso for coffee drinkers who found espresso too strong.
Production Method
There are two common methods for making an Americano. Hot water can be poured directly over a shot of espresso, or hot water can be steamed separately and then combined with the espresso shot.
